Biking to Raise Funds for the Children’s Miracle Network

On Saturday, July 16th, INFINITI of Mechanicsburg’s Business Development Manager, Jim Wilson, biked 100-miles in the 6th Annual Tour de Chocolate Town (TdCT) to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.  This was Wilson’s 4th time riding in the TdCT.

Wilson was introduced to the Hershey bike fundraiser by TdCT founder and neighbor, Jim St John.  Jim St John is a Hershey executive, but still finds the time to organize this event and biking routes each year. The TdCT features four different bicycle routes—15-Miles, 25-Miles, 50-Mile, and the most advanced, 100-Miles.   All routes begin and end from Henry Hershey Field at the Milton Hershey School.  The Hershey Company has raised over $5 million for the Children’s Miracle Network over the years through events like the TdCT.

Wilson continually trains throughout the year for a bike ride of this caliber.  Competing in bike races with his team Blue Mountain Velo and riding for various charity rides helps Wilson stay in shape for a Century (that's biking lingo for 100 miles).  Wilson admits dieting is a huge part of his training as well. His meals consist of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, healthy oils, vitamins and of course lots of protein!

“It’s really exciting to ride with over 330 people committed to helping this great cause.” Jim Wilson states. “Riding in the TdCT is an enjoyable experience filled with camaraderie and friendly competition.”

Thank you, Jim Wilson for representing INFINITI of Mechanicsburg in the 6th Annual Tour de Chocolate Town.  To learn more about the TdCT, visit their Facebook page.

Lehman Motors says Farewell to a Long-Time Employee

Long-time employee, Brett Farrance, works his final days at Lehman Motors in order to pursue his life-long dreams of owning his family business.

Holding many positions throughout his 15-years at Lehman Motors, Brett worked his way up to his current position of General Sales Manager of Infiniti of Mechanicsburg and Lehman Volvo. Making countless friendships along the way with both clients and co-workers, Brett will be missed by many, to say the least.

"While it was incredibly hard to hear the words advising me of Brett's new endeavor," Ray Bromley, President of Lehman Motors states, "I was able to be extremely happy for him and his family to have the ability to pursue the dream of owning a business. Brett’s 15 years of very loyal service made our group of dealerships stronger and more competitive than ever."

Reminiscing on his time here, Brett finds it difficult to choose just one favorite memory. Although he is certain, that it is the people he will miss most. “We have a unique environment of a ‘TEAM’ mindset at Lehman Motors. This type of environment is not often found in the automotive industry,” states Brett, “and is something I am proud to have been a part of.”

Brett and wife, Angie Farrance (also a Lehman Motors employee), begin their next life chapter together as business entrepreneurs. Taking over the insurance and financial agency from Brett’s father, Brett and Angie are eager and grateful for the opportunity to grow the family business.

"If Brett runs his own business like he handled the positions that he held here, he will be wildly successful. I wish Brett and Angie all the best" says Ray Bromley.

Infiniti's New Commercial--'Vacation'

Infiniti has released a new commercial for the 2015 QX60, inspired by the 1983 classic "National Lampoon's Vacation" which coincides with the July 29 release of Warner Bros. Studio's remake. The commercial begins with a TV commercial starring the original movie's car-loving blonde bombshell and supermodel, Christie Brinkley, and puts a spin on the famous movie scene as the modern day family heads to Walley World.

In the national spot titled "Vacation," Ethan Embry (who notably starred as Rusty in "Vegas Vacation") loads his family in the roomy 3-row QX60 and hits the road for Walley World. While on the road trip, Ethan looks in his side view mirror and sees an attractive blonde in a sports car fast approaching. As Ethan and the blonde keep up with each other on the highway, Christie Brinkley is revealed as his wife who catches this action and ends the scene with an ironic response: "Honey, a blonde in a convertible? Seriously?"

Available in both front-wheel drive and with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, the QX60 features a standard 3.5-liter DOHC V6 which produces 265 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 248 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Starting at just $42,400 MSRP and featuring spacious accommodations for seven people, the 2015 QX60 is the ultimate family vacation vehicle!

Another Successful Habitat for Humanity Event

On March 27th 150 people gathered together at the Hershey Country Club for the 10th Annual Habitat for Humanity Juried Art Auction. Over $18,000 was raised just that night, with all of the proceeds going towards Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. Infiniti of Mechanicsburg, a continued majored sponsor of the event, thanks everyone who came out to support this great cause!

Around 30 artists donated more than 38 art pieces to be auctioned off to the highest bidder during the event’s live auction. “The auction was really impressive this year,” states Bill Wood, Habitat’s Executive Director. “Habitat’s auction committee put together a fantastic list of items for both the live and silent auctions. Of course, this would not have been possible without the generous donations of original art work from local artists.”

Another Successful Ladies Night Out at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg

The 2nd annual Ladies Night Out at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg brought a lot of people to our dealership for one important mission....raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Light the Night Walk.

Of course it was a fundraiser with a laid-back and relaxing feel. There were a lot of vendors on hand, raffle items, drinks, food and even a massage area. The vendors on hand provided funds for items they sold and everyone had an excellent time. In fact, year two was even more successful than the first year! Here's to a repeat for next year's event.

Big thanks go out to Lehman Motor's Sales Consultant Pam Peffer and Infiniti of Mechanicsburg Sales Consultant Justine Myers for organizing this wonderful fundraiser.

How much does Horsepower cost?

It's an interesting term that's still used in the automotive industry...horsepower. We ran with that theme (sorry for the pun) during Jump Street's Derby Day this past Saturday. Jump Street is a local organization in Central Pennsylvania that provides art projects for the community...certainly a great cause.

As we were a sponsor for this event we had an advertisement on the screen that would be used to air the Kentucky Derby. So horses and horsepower was a good theme to use...Here is what we came up with:

You see, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 provides 328 horsepower...that's a lot, considering the Lexus IS350 only provides 306 horsepower and the BMW 335 XDrive an even 300. Even more impressive is the price you pay per pony.

The Lexus will set you back $136.76 per horsepower* and the pricey BMW comes in at $151.33 per horse . Infiniti on the other hand is generous with the power and at only $118.75 per horse*, it's a lot of performance for the money.

(*based on new 2014 AWD base price models prior to destination).

Never Underestimate the Importance of Tires

There are thousands of parts on any given car...some more important than others, but all play a role in the overall performance, comfort, or drivability of a vehicle. So what's the most important? When it comes to safety...think about this...the only thing that keeps your vehicle connected to the ground is it's tires.
Its a simple concept that a lot of people overlook. But in addition to safety, the right tires will optimize performance and fuel economy. So there is a lot at play in the rubber that surrounds your wheels.
With all of that in mind, Infiniti of Mechanicsburg is happy to offer the Great Tire Trade Up this month. Trade in your old worn tires and receive up to $150 in credit towards a new set of select OEM tires installed at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg.

Its just one more way we are looking out for you and your Infiniti. Call our service department at 717-691-8900 for more information.

The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge: All You Need to Know

We now know what the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept car brings to the table. Unveiled this month at the Detroit Auto Show, the Q50 Eau Rouge is a glimpse of what can happen when you match the spirit and look of Formula 1 racing with the inspired Performance of an Infiniti sport sedan. The results are wonderful...

Infiniti Press Release below:

Detroit - The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge, revealed at the 2014 NAIAS Detroit Motor Show, is a concept car that expresses Infiniti's design vision of a high-performance Q50 premium sports sedan.

The Q50 Eau Rouge embodies the arresting design features of the Q50 premium sports sedan - infused with the enticing spirit of Formula One.

Featuring bespoke aerodynamic carbon fiber bodywork, Q50 Eau Rouge is lower and wider, possessing genuine road presence. This striking design is inspired by muscularity, aerodynamics, refinement, and understated power.

"If we built this car I would expect it to feature over 500hp and 600lb/ft of torque. Through our various alliance partners we have access to a range of engines featuring this performance capability which, with a fair amount of engineering effort, can be developed to exhibit Infiniti character and accommodated within the Q50 engine bay. The engine we are evaluating for the Q50 Eau Rouge is a big personality, V-cylinder engine with forced induction. I think our engineers have been waiting for a project like this," said Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti Motor Company Limited.

Hints at powerful intent

The Q50 Eau Rouge was born out of competition at the very pinnacle of motorsport, mirroring components from the successful RB9 race car.

Almost every exterior panel is bespoke to the Q50 Eau Rouge, with only the front doors and the arch of the roof pillars retained as standard components.

Q50 Eau Rouge visibly hunkers down with menace and intent. New front and rear fenders extend the current Q50's already broad-shouldered stance by 20mm, while a larger deck lid spoiler creates air-pressure downforce. All of this dynamic width is wrapped in a tailored coat of customized red paint.

Framing the paintwork across the Q50 Eau Rouge's athletic physique is dark-chrome detailing to replace the chrome bright work of the production Q50, darkening the concept's demeanor dramatically.

Q50's signature double-arch front grille too takes the dark-chrome's matte finish, as do the glasshouse surrounds, door handles and deck lid accents. The curving hood is double air-vented as a further suggestion of the capability and purpose of the Q50 Eau Rouge.

"From our shared passion for performance with Infiniti Red Bull Racing grew a collective desire to produce an ambitious and powerful Infiniti Q50 design study. The overall design creates a feeling of refined muscularity," said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti's Executive Design Director.

"The design has a number of distinctive Formula-One inspired touches. In particular, the sculpted front wing assembly and the rear aerodynamic packaging take their cues from the RB9 race car. The rear fog light packaging is unmistakably Formula One.

"The Q50 Eau Rouge is a combination of the seductive lines of the Q50 but with a fiercer design urge in keeping with a high-performance vehicle. The Q50 Eau Rouge is Infiniti to the power of four; like a bull with its shoulder muscles flexed, a bull in Infiniti clothing."

Part of the concept's exterior treatments include lightweight 21-inch forged alloy wheels which fill the wider arches.

Premium interior. Sporting inspiration

Further underlining the sporty character of the design study, the interior was designed to offer command and comfort.

Further precision control is afforded by a high-grip sports steering wheel and Formula One-style paddle-shifters.

Red-infused carbon fiber detailing to the doors and center console complement the exterior style, and dark-chrome again replaces silver-chrome in the red cockpit.

The breadth and depth of capability is self-evident; the Q50 Eau Rouge is a design concept that clearly indicates what Infiniti could achieve if it was to build a performance version of the Q50 sports sedan.

"Performance is a key ingredient of Infiniti vehicles such as the Q50 sports sedan. Our involvement in Formula One provides inspiration and excellence to our designers and engineers. Q50 Eau Rouge provides not only a glimpse of the design language, but also the performance capability of a future special series," de Nysschen added.
