A lot of people look to the Germans when it comes to vehicles that create new-segments, but in fact Infiniti has been first in line when it comes to sporting crossover-type vehicles.

One example is the Infiniti FX, a vehicle launched 8 years ago. The FX was the first pure-sport inspired crossover on the market. Armed with a powerful engine and pure form design, the FX was truly uniuque in its approach to what a crossover could be. The Greenest Test Drive in Central PA!

On April 22nd and 23rd:Customers who test drive the all-new Infiniti M35 Hybrid on Earth Day weekend will be treated to a fun-to-drive eco friendly machine, but just as importantly they will also be giving back to the environment. For every test drive, Infiniti of Mechanicsburg will be donating a tree to the Adventure Zone Fitness Trail project.

 

“This is an exciting way for people to contribute to the environment, and something that will draw attention for the right reasons”, states Infiniti of Mechanicsburg’s dealer principal, Ray Bromley.

This campaign is unique in two aspects. For one thing, the car being driven is Infiniti’s first hybrid. Unlike a conventional hybrid, this vehicle puts emphasis both on economy and power, creating a 360 horsepower sport sedan that still delivers 32 miles-per-gallon. The campaign also gives back to the earth, creating a net zero impact on the environment. You plant your foot; Infiniti of Mechanicsburg plants a tree.

A Vision of the Future?

Infiniti certainly left a mark this past month at the Geneva Auto Show. They unveiled the stunning Etherea concept car. This concept points towards an alternative to the traditional and conservative luxury vehicle. Aimed at a younger buyer, the Etherea features a comfortable ride height, twin touch screen technology, and of course stunning exterior and interior design. there is no mistaking this vehicle for anything else...possibly on the road in the future.

32 Miles Per Gallon has never been this much fun

360 Horsepower and 32 Miles Per Gallon...those are two key figures produced by the 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid.

From Automobile Magazine:

The 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid marks the introduction of a gasoline/electric vehicle to the brand’s lineup and the all-important fuel economy figures have just been announced. The M35 Hybrid has been EPA certified at 27/32 mpg city/highway, with a combined rating of 29 mpg.

Featuring a 3.5-liter Atkinson-cycle V-6, two clutches (one wet, one dry) and a 50 kW electric motor, the M35 Hybrid boasts a combined 360 horsepower and is able to be driven on electric power alone. A seven-speed automatic transmission and a lithium-ion battery pack are also used. According to Infiniti, the M35 Hybrid is the only vehicle on the market that offers more than 350 horsepower while attaining over 30 mpg on the highway.

The M35 Hybrid’s economy rating compares favorably to that of the base model M37 with a 3.7-liter, 330-horsepower V-6, that car achieving 18/26 mpg city/highway with a combined rating of 21 mpg. It also tops the 22/25 mpg city/highway rated Lexus GS 450h, the vehicle that is arguably the M35’s closest competition.
