The Future Start With "Q"

What you see here is the stunning start of the next generation of Infiniti vehicles. Named the Q50, this 2014 model year Infiniti goes on sale later this year.

Press Release:

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 is the centerpiece of the Infiniti display at the NAIAS, which runs from Jan. 19th through the 27th at Detroit's Cobo Center. Also featured at the Infiniti exhibit is the complete line of 2013 Infiniti cars and SUVs, along with an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One race car.
The all-new Infiniti Q50 takes many of its seductive styling cues from the Infiniti Essence concept, with a tight, athletic appearance that blends low, wide proportions with excellent interior roominess. Inside, the Q50 interior offers a driver-centric cockpit with an array of premium comfort and convenience features, including the new Infiniti InTouch™ communications system with large dual touch-screens.
"We challenged ourselves with this new Infiniti Q50 to take another great leap in terms of proportion, Infiniti-ness and premium quality. It presents a new benchmark of Infiniti's sedan leadership," said Nakamura.
The 2014 Infiniti Q50 will be available with a choice of a refined 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 or new Q50 Hybrid featuring Infiniti's Direct Response Hybrid System™ with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control. Both powertrains will be offered with rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
Two new world's first production performance technologies make their debuts in the Q50 - Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering™ technology and Active Lane Control™. The new steering system allows advanced control of the Q50's tire angle and steering inputs, transmitting the driver's intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical system. Four different steering settings are offered, allowing customization by driver preference or road conditions. The Active Lane Control™ uses a camera-based lane marker detection system to further enhance on-center driving capability.
Infiniti recently reported a year-over-year U.S. sales increase of 21.8 percent for 2012, pointing to a strong sales forecast for the brand in 2013. Infiniti is currently sold in nearly 50 countries worldwide and is expanding its production base to three continents.
Said de Nysschen: "We are building a solid reputation for quality, customer care and cutting-edge technology. This new Infiniti Q50 is a hint of the fascinating products that will punctuate our future as we craft our brand and shape our destiny."

A Day for a Deal

When you look at the historical data you will find that 7 of the 10 best days to buy a car fall in the month of December. Today and tomorrow are just two of the days in that range.
Why is December a great time to buy a new car you might ask? Well, the end of the year has typically been a good time to buy as companies want that last minute competitive push before the new year starts. But this year, there are also other factors...some of them are weather related, due to the effects of vehicles that were lost during Hurricane Sandy.
The added benefit of buying now is that you can still take advantage of great offers as the Infiniti Limited Engagement Winter event is still going strong. Exceptional lease offers, great selection (while it lasts!) and the Inspired Performance of a new Infiniti. It all adds up to the best time to buy. So, if you have had your eye on an Infiniti...this would be the best time to call Infiniti of Mechanicsburg at 717-691-8900 or select from the inventory online at www.infinitiofmechanicsburg.com

What's in a name...or letter?

In 1989 Infiniti was launched with the flagship Q45 sedan. Since then the product lineup has increased...significantly. As a result there are various sedans, coupes, crossovers, convertibles and SUVs with various model designations. This can cause some confusion...so, starting with the 2014 model year, Infiniti has decided to go back to their roots and simplify things.
All cars will be "Q" models, while all SUV/Crossovers will be "QX" models. Simplicity at its finest.

Press Release:

December 18th 2012: Marking another significant step in its plan to further expand its presence in the premium automotive sector, Infiniti today announced details of a new nomenclature strategy to be applied to its complete product range beginning with the 2014 model year. The first model to carry Infiniti's new Q badge will be the Q50, an all-new premium sports sedan to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013.

The premium automotive brand will see its model range simply prefixed either by Q – for sedans, coupes and convertibles, or QX, for crossover and SUV models. Each model will be further identified by a double digit representing hierarchy within the range. This strategic change reflects Infiniti's desire for clarity and cohesiveness as it embarks on ambitious growth plans, including significant expansion of the Infiniti portfolio.

Commenting on the revised naming philosophy, Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti Motor Company Limited, said: "Over the past few months, we have talked at length with our retailers, our customers, and our business partners about our brand. The need for a new identity and direction to promote consumer familiarity with our model range as we expand the portfolio became evident. To achieve this, we clearly needed a simple and consistent nomenclature framework. After exhaustive research and evaluation, we concluded that 'Q' captured the inspiration within the next generation of Infiniti models, as well as emphasizing our performance credentials while harking back to our heritage with the Q45 – Infiniti's first iconic flagship product in 1989."

Infiniti's new nomenclature strategy will be implemented in logical stages within the existing product range, as 2014 model year variants are introduced. The brand's future plans include a range of next-generation Infiniti models that will carry Q and QX badging from the outset.

Relief to Those in Need

As we are all aware, Hurricane Sandy has devastated a large portion of New Jersey and New York, in addition to other areas along the east coast. As a result, homes are lost and vehicles are lost. In an effort to help rebuild lives, Infiniti is offering assistance to those whose vehicles were destroyed in the storm.

Press Release:

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Infiniti announced it will offer employee pricing and special financing with deferred payments to people in the designated FEMA disaster area who have an insurance claim on their current vehicle due to the storm.
Infiniti will offer these programs beginning Nov. 1, 2012 through Jan. 2, 2013, and allows buyers to take advantage of special pricing on new 2013 Infiniti models and is available at local Infiniti retailers. Details about the pricing and finance programs will be available at infinitiusa.com.

“Our hearts go out to the millions of people along the East Coast that are affected by this devastating storm,” said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Americas. “We hope Infiniti’s special pricing and financing program helps some people get mobile again and resume their normal lives.”

Infiniti Financial Services (IFS) will provide assistance to help victims get back on their feet without the added burden of an immediate vehicle payment. IFS will defer payments for new vehicle purchases for up to three months to provide extra assistance to those in need.

Current IFS customers in FEMA disaster areas will be offered payment extensions for qualifying leases and retail purchases for up to three payments without extension fees.

Study: Infiniti Has Highest Emotional Attachment Among Auto Brands

With fans willing to camp out for as long as a week to be one of the first to have one of the new iPhones, it’s no surprise that Apple’s now-iconic mobile phone topped the 2012 LEAP (Leveraging Emotional Appeal for Profit) Brand Index list. But one surprise standout was the highest-raking automotive brand. Infiniti came in third on the list, just behind the iPhone and iPod and above every other auto brand.

LEAP measures emotional attachment to brands in 38 categories using a proprietary methodology. Since people spend a great deal of time in their cars and using personal electronic devices, the fact that consumer technology and automotive brands ranked highly is not a surprise. The only non-automotive or tech brand among the top 10 was Disney Parks. Apple and its products was a big winner overall with four out of the top 10 spots being an Apple product or the brand itself.

Infiniti was the clear cut winner among automotive brands, with the next brand in the survey ranked at number 6. With a strong performance and technology focus, Infiniti has a connection with its customers that the competition cannot match. If you are new to Infiniti, your next step should to be to experience the brand for yourself.
