Formula 1 inspired Q50?

Next month Infiniti will take the wraps of a hot new Q50 concept vehicle, named the Eau Rouge. It takes its name from the Belgian Formula 1 course. It is fitting that Infiniti has chosen Formula 1 as the inspiration for the latest concept, as Sebastian Vettel has taken more than his share of F1 titles in the Infiniti Red Bull Racing RB series cars. We don't know much about the new Concept at this point...but we do know it will be exciting, and of course, inspired.

Yes, The Q50 is officially "Cool"

According to Time Magazine, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 is officially one of the coolest cars available this year. It’s no surprise to us, as all you have to do is look at it to appreciate the design. Time Magazine states:

The sport sedan has been a feature of Infiniti’s model line for a quarter of a century and the latest version is lower and wider, giving the latest version a whole new profile as well a new appearance from the front and rear as well as making it roomier on the inside.”

So if you want both “fun” and “cool” then check out the 2014 Infiniti Q50 from Infiniti of Mechanicsburg: www.infinitiofmechanicsburg.com

How Long Does an Infiniti Last?

What you see above is a very well-traveled 13 year old Infiniti. How well travelled? This 2000 Infiniti I30 has covered over 373,000 miles and is still going strong. It belongs to a great service client at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg, Wendell Yorkman. He shared his story with us:

Over 12 years ago, for my 50th birthday, I decided to get rid of the family station wagon and treat myself to a luxury car. The children were all grown and college tuitions were done, so it was time for an upgrade. I happened upon a 2000 Infiniti I30 that was just the right color, right amenities and, best of all, the right price. From my first test drive I knew this was the car for me. The ride was so smooth and comfortable that I insisted on taking it home with me that night; even though they had not serviced or cleaned it from the previous owner.

That was January 2001 and the car had 19,000 miles. Now it has over 373,000 miles and is still running as smooth as the day I bought it. I love to drive so I have driven many times to places like Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich., all over New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I’ve made numerous trips to Columbus, Ohio, Warren, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, Memphis TN., St. Louis, Missouri, Atlanta, Ga. New Orleans, La., Austin, Tx., Baltimore, Md., Washington, D.C., Virginia, Boston and Cambridge, Mass., West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and all states in between. There was a time that I would keep an overnight bag in the trunk just in case I decided to take a spontaneous trip.

I never would have thought that a car could give such satisfaction and consistent, reliable performance over the years and miles. All this with minimal maintenance; regular oil changes, tires, brakes and tune up. My hope is that I can get another 50-60 thousand miles. I am convinced that my next automobile will be an Infiniti. For me, that’s the only logical choice. I have been test driving an Infiniti M each year since 2010 imagining the day when I’ll have one of my own. Until then, I’ll keep covering the miles in my I30.

A Great Result from a Great Event for a Great Cause

Infiniti of Mechanicsburg was on hand for the End of Summer Picnic Bash at Sophia's on Walden this past Sunday. The event was held to raise much needed funds for the annual Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk.

Held each fall, the Light the Night Walk is an important fundraiser to help those with blood cancers. In fact, Infiniti of Mechanicsburg Owner Ray Bromley is the chair for this year's walk in Harrisburg. He was also on hand at the End of Summer Picnic Bash.

In addition to a great turnout, there was live music, fun for children and a silent auction. In total, over $5,000 was raised! A big thank you to everyone who helped contribute to this event. We truly appreciate the generosity.

A Surprise Worth Waiting For...

The picture above sums it up. Every now and then people do get surprised with a new car. Talk about a pleasant surprise. In this case, Sara Goldman's husband purchased a new 2013 Infiniti JX35 from Infiniti of Mechanicsburg, without Sara's knowledge. But he purchased it for her, as she has wanted a JX35 ever since the popular 7 passenger crossover debuted.
She could not believe her eyes when he told her they were in our showroom to pick up her new Infiniti. Needless to say, she was moved to tears. We love it when that happens!

Event Season Keeps Rolling...

Infiniti of Mechanicsburg has been on a roll lately! Not just with selling Infinitis...but with our event schedule. Last week we hosted the Central Pennsylvania debut of the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50. Let's just say the event went well, as we had virtually all of our Q50s on the road for test drives all evening.

In addition to seeing and driving the Q50, our customers also experienced a magnificent catering experience and watched the global Q50 debut video. The month might be winding down, but we keep the events rolling.

Q50 Has Arrived...

Anticipation is no longer half of the fun...driving the 2014 Infiniti Q50 is much better than waiting for it! Now that Infiniti of Mechanicsburg has the Q50 in inventory, we have been able to drive the vehicle to see how it truly performs in the real world. Well, the results are impressive.

Take for example, the all-new Infiniti Q50 Hybrid. It has 360 horsepower and wow...it is impressive to say the least. Starting with a punchy 3.5 liter V6 and adding an electric motor, the Q50 Hybrid puts down over 400 pound feet of torque...and torque is certainly what you feel.

You have to experience this car for yourself. Find the Infiniti Q50 now at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg.

Forty Under 40 Photoshoot: It's a wrap!

Once again, Infiniti of Mechanicsburg was the host location for Central Pennsylvania's Forty Under 40 Photo shoot. If you aren't familiar with Forty Under 40, it's an award ceremony that honors the top 40 business professionals in Central Pennsylvania who are under 40 years old (hmmm...sounds like a good fit for future Infiniti owners). Not only have these individuals excelled in their field, but they also show dedication to various charitable organizations.

Prior to the awards ceremony in October, we host a photo shoot with the winners. It's a great way for them to meet each other, network, and of course discover Infiniti and Infiniti of Mechanicsburg. Congratulations to this years class:

Artistic Expression with a Lasting Impression

If you've been in our showroom, then you probably have noticed all of the amazing abstract art that decorate our walls. They are the work of Julie Neal, a phenomenal local artist. Julie has a honed skill at bringing details to life. In fact, all of the artwork in our dealership is an abstract take on details of Infiniti vehicles, both the inside and the outside. Some of the pieces are identifiable if you look long enough, but some take on a very unique life all on their own.
We were lucky enough to have Julie bring more life to our showroom.  She has a great photography background and is even the official photographer for Farm Aid. If you want to find out more about her and her work, check out her web site at http://www.visionsofhoney.com/

The All-New 2014 Infiniti Q50: On Sale in August

The much-anticipated 2014 Infiniti Q50 is one month closer to being on sale. Arriving soon at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg and officially on sale in August, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 enters one of the most hard-fought segments in the luxury industry.

While it’s been known that the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50 would be released in late summer, the actual month in which Q50 sales would start hasn’t been known until now. Those who are waiting for their first live glimpse of the car will not have to wait much longer.

Replacing the award-winning Infiniti G37, the Infiniti Q50 will start at $36,700 (plus $905 destination) and be offered with a choice of powertrains. Customers can choose from a 3.7 liter V6 with rear wheel or all-wheel drive, or opt for the hybrid V6 (starting at $43,950 plus $905 destination) that delivers 354 horsepower and returns 36 miles per gallon. Infiniti of Mechanicsburg has been taking pre-orders for the 2014 Infiniti Q50 for several months, and Infiniti has reported over 3,600 pre-orders across the country, making it the most successful pre-launch in the brand’s history. The World of Trade-ins at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg

People are sometimes surprised to see so many different makes and models of pre-owned vehicles at our dealership. The simple reason our lot is so diverse is because most of our customers are first-time Infiniti owners.

Although Infiniti was born in 1989, Central Pennsylvania did not have an Infiniti dealership until Infiniti of Mechanicsburg opened in January of 2011. As a result, most people in the area are purchasing their very first Infiniti and of course, trading in a different brand.

At current count we have over 20 different brands for sale at our dealership. And just like our Infiniti pre-owned vehicles, they go through our service facility and detail department to be prepared for the next owners. It's a great way for us to deliver a range of vehicle types and prices for shoppers with a range of needs and budgets.

So keep us in mind for the time you are looking for a pre-owned truck, convertible, sedan, economy car, van or wagon...you might just be surprised what you can find.

We Usually Drive, but...

Jim Lehman Wilson, Infiniti of Mechanicsburg Business Development Manager, is riding for a cause! Raising funds for the homeless through Brethren Housing, Jim rode 70 miles through the rain this past Saturday! As a recreational biker, the 70 mile ride is the most amount of cycling he has ever done in one shot.
But his work isn't done there...he has a goal of 400 miles this year. Next up, riding 100 miles for the Children’s Miracle Network. In addition, Jim will also be riding 140 miles in one day to support Hope Within (to provide free medical care the under served and under resourced). He will ride in June for Hope Within and again for the same cause September. Here's to a strong finish!

Inspired Performance is Ageless.

No matter what your age, the experience of driving an Infiniti will keep you "young at heart". Take for example, our customers the Bermans (pictured below with Sales Consultant Darrell Williams) who have been enjoying their new Infiniti G37 coupe for the past several months. The Bermans, who are in their 80s, love driving their Infiniti.

So, no matter what your age, there's no such thing as being too old to enjoy Inspired Performance.

The Infiniti Name Game: 2014 Model Year Intro

What was once a G is now a Q...and more. While some people might be curious about the decision, Infiniti has changed the 2014 model line-up with new nomenclature. The simple reasoning is for brand clarity and to help distinguish models in an easy to understand model.
In addition, there are new products and engine choices (including more hybrids!) coming in the future that made the current name scheme very hard to keep in place.

The 2014 Infiniti line-up:

Walking With a Mission

Ray Bromley, President of Infiniti of Mechanicsburg is taking charge with a very important mission. He is serving as Corporate Walk Chair for this year's Light the Night Walk, which benefits the Central Pennsylvania chapter Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

“It is my pleasure to accept the honor to serve as Corporate Walk Chair for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Harrisburg Light the Night Walk. My mother lost her battle with a blood cancer almost 40 years ago. Over that period of time, and especially over the last 10 years, I have watched very closely and have been amazed at the advancements in research that were made possible through all of the fundraising activities of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, including the Light The Night Walk.”

“More than 1 million North Americans are fighting blood cancer, the third leading cause of cancer deaths. So please join me in my effort to Light The Night and celebrate our advancements and successes in the fight against blood cancers.”

Here's to a successful walk...we know it will be!

Earth Day: A Year-round event at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg

Earth day goes beyond a one-day event. For example, we have replaced our old dealership lights with low energy lights that also improve lighting performance. The result is a low-energy lighting system that is both good for the earth and it really improves visibility at night.

Recently installed by Electric Power Savers (EPS), these lights provide less power draw and put out less heat, which results in an increased power capacity. In addition, with the lighting system not working as hard, there is a substantial reduction in the amount of pollution.

The state-of-the-art technology also improves the quality of light. So if you’ve driven past Infiniti of Mechanicsburg at night and thought things look a little brighter, you are right. Earth Day might only be celebrated once a year, but with an increase in green technology, Earth Day will last year round at Infiniti of Mechanicsburg.
In addition, you can do your part as Infiniti will be launching 2 more Hybrid Models soon. In the meantime, you might want to discover the Infiniti M35 Hybrid. www.infinitiofmechanicsburg.com

If THIS Guy is your performance tester, you know things will go well...

The old saying is "racing improves the breed". There is truth to that. When you look at some of the high-tech features that appear in performance vehicles, a lot of them were developed on the race track. The most high-tech racing, Formula 1, is a great example and Infiniti has one of the best F1 drivers on the plant, in Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel is the top driver for Red Bull Racing Infiniti and in his short carrier has already picked up three world championships, and he shows no signs of slowing down in the hotly contested 2013 Formula 1 season.

He is now directly involved in setting up new Infiniti vehicles for driver feel and performance. The result of his work will be revealed in the all-new Infiniti Q50, which is coming out late this summer. There is excitement in the air...

Announcing: The All-new Infiniti QX60 Hybrid

Well, consider it official...the new Infiniti QX60 will be available in hybrid form...and at just a $3,000 premium over the conventional QX60 model. And yes, it will deliver on the fuel economy front. In fact, the QX60 will be the most fuel-efficient 3-row luxury crossover on the market. How's that for Inspired Performance of the green variety?

Infiniti announced that a new gasoline electric hybrid model will join the 2014 Infiniti QX60 premium crossover lineup in the United States this summer, following its world debut at the New York International Auto Show.

With the addition of the new QX60 Hybrid to the Q70 Hybrid (currently available as the M Hybrid) and previously announced Q50 Hybrid, Infiniti will have a trio of advanced Direct Response Hybrids for the 2014 model year.

The new Infiniti QX60 Hybrid is projected to realize 26 miles per gallon fuel economy (combined city/highway driving) – a 24 percent increase over non-hybrid QX60 models and is projected to have best 7-passenger fuel efficiency in the segment. Most significantly, it does so with absolutely no compromise of performance, interior roominess or cargo space compared to non-hybrid QX60 models
.
The new QX60 Hybrid will be powered by a 2.5-liter supercharged engine and 15 kW electric motor connected to an advanced CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Net system horsepower is estimated at 250 horsepower. Based on technology found in the Infiniti M35h Hybrid, the QX60 Hybrid's Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid® system uses a compact Lithium-ion battery and electric motor to provide supplementary power through its one-motor/two-clutch system. The result is a delivery of power equivalent to the 3.5-liter V6 but with 4-cylinder fuel economy. An Intelligent Regenerative Braking system partially recharges the battery during vehicle braking.

The First Infiniti: The Q45

Nearly 25 years ago the world was introduced to the Inspired Performance of Infiniti. The Infiniti Q45 changed the luxury market forever, proving you could provide performance and luxury in a seamless combination.
When the Infiniti Q45 launched in 1989 it sent shockwaves through the automotive landscape. With a smooth and powerful 278 horsepowerV8 engine, it provided sports car performance in a large luxury sedan package.

The suspension tuning was revolutionary and a hit with the press. Road and Track immediately named it one of the 10 best cars on the market. Popular Mechanics claimed ''The Q45 with full active suspension represents breakthrough technology that we felt compelled to recognize. It is the first production car in the world to offer full active suspension, and the ride may be the smoothest available.''

The spirit of the original Q45 lives on in the expansive Infiniti lineup today. From the G37 coupe all the way up to the full-size QX56 SUV. Find your Inspired Performance at www.infinitiofmechanicsburg.com

However, when you look at the numbers even further, it really becomes impressive through Infiniti of Mechanicsburg's leasing program. The Infiniti That Defies Logic

You would think that a luxury SUV that weighs over 5,800 pounds, tows 8,500 pounds and comes complete with 400 horsepower would drive..well, like a large SUV. But the Infiniti QX56 defies logic. It actually drives small,  provides a comfortable ride for every passenger and returns 20 miles per gallon.
In addition, the interior provides a very luxurious experience. With a choice of traditional bench or captain's chairs in the second row, and electronic folding 3rd row seats the QX56 also tackles versatility. So checking all the boxes, the Infiniti QX56 is a vehicle that does everything well.

Over 20 Years of "G"

It's hard to believe, but the fun-to-drive Infiniti G20 hit the road over 20 years ago, and since then the G has evolved into a 328 horsepower example of Inspired Performance. With a modest debut in 1991, the G20 served as the perfect entry level vehicle for new Infiniti customers. It featured an understated exterior with a comfortable interior. It also features a punchy 4 cylinder engine that provided exceptional fuel economy.

When the G20 was redesigned in 1998, the formula stayed mostly the same. That all changed when the all-new Infiniti G35 hit the road in 2003. It was a revolution. Offering the same level of performance as the competition at a much more acceptable price point, the G35 was an instant success. It was also realised in a sexy two door version. When the G35 was redesigned in 2007 it brought even more sophistication and higher levels of luxury. Just two years later it was replaced by the 328 horsepower G37, which today is enhanced even further with a hard-top convertible and the IPL performance versions. Its been a fun ride, and the best is yet to come...

The Future Start With "Q"

What you see here is the stunning start of the next generation of Infiniti vehicles. Named the Q50, this 2014 model year Infiniti goes on sale later this year.

Press Release:

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 is the centerpiece of the Infiniti display at the NAIAS, which runs from Jan. 19th through the 27th at Detroit's Cobo Center. Also featured at the Infiniti exhibit is the complete line of 2013 Infiniti cars and SUVs, along with an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One race car.
The all-new Infiniti Q50 takes many of its seductive styling cues from the Infiniti Essence concept, with a tight, athletic appearance that blends low, wide proportions with excellent interior roominess. Inside, the Q50 interior offers a driver-centric cockpit with an array of premium comfort and convenience features, including the new Infiniti InTouch™ communications system with large dual touch-screens.
"We challenged ourselves with this new Infiniti Q50 to take another great leap in terms of proportion, Infiniti-ness and premium quality. It presents a new benchmark of Infiniti's sedan leadership," said Nakamura.
The 2014 Infiniti Q50 will be available with a choice of a refined 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 or new Q50 Hybrid featuring Infiniti's Direct Response Hybrid System™ with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control. Both powertrains will be offered with rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
Two new world's first production performance technologies make their debuts in the Q50 - Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering™ technology and Active Lane Control™. The new steering system allows advanced control of the Q50's tire angle and steering inputs, transmitting the driver's intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical system. Four different steering settings are offered, allowing customization by driver preference or road conditions. The Active Lane Control™ uses a camera-based lane marker detection system to further enhance on-center driving capability.
Infiniti recently reported a year-over-year U.S. sales increase of 21.8 percent for 2012, pointing to a strong sales forecast for the brand in 2013. Infiniti is currently sold in nearly 50 countries worldwide and is expanding its production base to three continents.
Said de Nysschen: "We are building a solid reputation for quality, customer care and cutting-edge technology. This new Infiniti Q50 is a hint of the fascinating products that will punctuate our future as we craft our brand and shape our destiny."
